Another 31 Girls, Another 31 Days

Hello everyone!

A couple posts back I asked if you could handle 31 girls in 31 days.  Some of you could and some of you just couldn’t take 31 beauties crammed into your peepholes like that.  Well brace yourself because this last edition of 31 in 31 was by far the most spectacular showing (in my very humble opinion).

The last theme was “Out of this World” and I think we artists outdid ourselves.  Everything was truly out of this world.

Some of the standouts for me were:  Girl Eleven, Girl Eight, Girl three, Girl thirty and Girl twenty-one.  Of course I was feeling my girl as well but you know that!

I think there will be one more edition of 31 Girls in 31 Days as was hinted by the creator Ms. Vestque so we will just have to wait and see what delicious theme she comes up with…

Until then I beseech you to make kissy faces at the gorgeous girls and why not visit past ladies from the series as well?  They need love too.  That is – if you can handle it!

31 Girls in 31 Days

So tell me – could you handle 31 girls in 31 days?

Last month I was part of a project called ’31 Girls in 31 Days’.  If this is making you feel a lil deja vu that’s because there was a similar project in March with the same name hosted by the same person, the wonderful VESTQUE!

She, I and basically everyone who took part had SO much fun that she decided to host part deux of the project and this time there was a twist: poison.  Yep, under the theme poison artists from all over the world submitted to the project.  I had a blast creating this piece for the project and I think it was even better the second time around because of the theme.  It was more tied together.

So check out 31 females over 31 days…if you think you can handle it.  Be on the look out for my poisoned beauty in the line up!

And don’t fret, if you find that you have an appetite for 31 beauties there will be a July edition.  I’m starting to think this is going to be a regular project and I for one am very excited.  I’ll have an announcement via my blog when July starts to roll in.

This morning I was just clickin around on the web and I came across this awesome project based in England.  These guys are giving artists a voice to be a voice for the people.  We’re expressing how we feel about government, politics, etc.

The idea behind my submission is we expect the government to fulfill their promises.  We follow them because they shower us with what we want to hear.  We’ll follow them in the hopes that they’ll fulfill, that they’ll love us.
Maybe it’s time we loved ourselves.

This will be plasterd all over London.

dendoo + the ark project = yay!!!

About a year ago I sent in a little image to be included in a book called The Art Project.  Well, thanks to the wonderful postal service, I finally got my copy of the book and I can finally blog about it!

My Blue Marlin is swimming along with other fish and other animals in this book.  Over 200 hundred artists drew animals from their home or region to be rescued and viewed in this gorgeous book.

I picked the Marlin because I’ve always thought it was beautiful and it’s blue, a colour I was in love with when I was small.  Seriously I thought I’d have a blue wedding dress folks.

This book was published by IdN and imagine my surprise when I woke up to find an email telling me I have a lil feature on my piece which can be viewed here.  (If the link isn’t working check back later.  For some reason the site is down now.)

Most of all I’m proud that it gives a shout out to the beautiful TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS!   For all the grief that one has to endure living here sometimes, it’s a really cool place and I LOVE giving a shout out!

Dendoo Interviewed – Weekly Wrap Up

I have never been asked to do an interview before, not just out of the blue. Usually if i give an interview it’s attached with a pdf magazine.

So my first interview ever was done by Ninunina. I’m so proud, so happy, so excited. Big things, big. check it out!!

WEEKLY WRAP UP

To say I am busy is an understatement.  I realized this week will be all about finding a balance.  I have to find my inner peace, I have to be observant and I have to be gung ho.  have to be.  I love my new boss but she is seriously all over the place (in a good way) but if I get like that I get a little crazy (in a bad way)  so i’m going to do everything I can to stay on top of myself.  My artwork might suffer for a bit in this process. Today, after I email my boss some stuff that I am supposed to have done, I have to devote my day to finishing an awesome project that will be terribly awesome if i pull it off and bad if i dont.  it has to be finished TODAY.  no if, ands and I don’t really have a huge butt.

last night for the first time in forever I WENT OUT.  i saw an old high school buddy who looked AMAZING, got laced (not too laced cause i had to drive my lil sis home and my mother would kill me) at a bar where i got a martini in Providenciales for 5 BUCKS thanks to flirting with the bartender ( Vestque read my email ) usually, this would cost $10.  Thank you flirting abilities.

So that’s about it.  I can say if next week is as psycho, you might see a new side of dendoo.  a no nonesense side.

There’s no fashion file but I might do a weekend something.  Who knows.

Curvy 6

Well I didn’t get into curvy 6, but like I wrote in my “do i psych myself out” post my time will come.  next year i’ll submit again and hopefully that time i will get in.  in the mean time here’s a lil pic of love…this could have been curvied but for now it’s just good old dendoo.  *note this is not what i submitted to curvy, it’s just a regular illo

dendoo in NewSugar Mag and GizMag/i got a job!!!!

I’m not supposed to be posting on weekends but when I realized I hadn’t shared my latest “looka mee’s” I quickly had to remedy that.

I was fortunate enough to be included in NewSugar Magazine Issue 4 and GizMag (Issue 4??).   NS has an awesome interview, some of the info is outdated mind you.  I’m NOT moving to England this year, next year, probably (hopefully) the year after.

With the economy I decided to stay in a more stable environment and God gave me a job 2 weeks after quitting and a freaking car was found as soooooon as I sealed the deal with my new job.  I love you Lord.  If you want to say it was the planets aligning go on.  Point is I got it smoothed out.  I start tomorrow.  See, with me going away last week I didn’t even update my new job finding thingy.

I’m going to be working with a Marketing firm. It’s jut me and my new boss (who is omg cute and awesome).  I’m stoked.

Ok back to news.  GizMag I got a little interview in there as well.  There are some pieces that have been recycled but that’s cause I was so busy that I had to do what I had to do.  Still, very glad to be a part of that mag.  The guy who puts it together is very sweet, we twitter like mad.

Anything new?  I’ll be posting about something maybe 2 weeks from now that is very BIG for me.

I tried out for a few things, maybe you’ll see a post about that soon.

Sadly I don’t have anyone lined up for the lastest Dendoo Do Monthly Interview.  I’ll have to think of something.  Maybe this month will be a lot of me babbling.
